Rocket City Kitty Palooza 2022

This annual event was created to raise awareness of the importance of neutering pets, stray cats, barn cats and feral colonies. There is a multi-rescue kitten adoption event from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., kitten yoga from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (reservations required), and an official masquerade ball from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. And goodies for the first 300 guests! About 50 teams and more than 1,200 paddlers will be making waves in Decatur on the second Saturday in May when the dragon boat race and festival returns for the ninth year. A fundraiser for the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation, the family event is scheduled for May 14, 2022, with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. and an on-water competition beginning at 9:00 a.m. Presented by Toray Carbon Fibers, the one-day event takes place at the Point Mallard Aquatic Center.
