An eco-tasting with unreleased wines is coming to the Watervale Hotel • Glam Adelaide

The Watervale Hotel – alongside the hotel’s organic farm, Penobscot Farm – is partnering with Matriarch & Red Wines to provide the ultimate food and wine experience for this year’s Clare Valley Gourmet Week.

Nicola Palmer of Watervale Hotel & Penobscot Farm, and Marnie Roberts of Matriarch & Rouge Wines, are hosting ‘Living Melting Pot’, which will invite guests to experience how the two leading ladies of the region are doing things differently.

As Executive Chef of The Watervale Hotel, Nicola uses only fresh organic produce from the Penobscot Farm. The bio-dynamic and organic farm uses the principles of permaculture, allowing Watervale’s kitchen to serve tasty, seasonal and ethical dishes all year round.

Penobscot and the Watervale Hotel are both permaculture businesses that strive to foster sustainability and self-sufficiency, both economically and ecologically.

As owner and winemaker of Matriarch & Rouge Wines, Marnie also crafts small-batch, environmentally friendly, climate-appropriate varieties in the Clare region. The half-day event will be a “melting pot” of food, wine and extraordinary learning.

The “Living Melting Pot” event includes a tour of the organic farm with cocktails and canapes, followed by a tour of the vineyard, a barrel tasting and a long tasting dinner, accompanied by a list exclusive of new wines.

Food, wine and transportation are included in the ticket price. Clare Valley is a stunning destination during the autumn months, exploding in exquisite colors of orange and yellow, so don’t miss this opportunity for an indulgent weekend.

The thorn among the two roses will be Nick Ryan as emcee. He will weave his signature blend of education, humor and his own style of verbal roasting.

Nicola and Marnie will give you exclusive insight into their business, giving you first-hand knowledge of the land, hotel history, vineyards, and more. If that wasn’t enough, you can also taste organic dishes, sip new wines.

For more information on the event, visit the Watervale Hotel website.

When: Friday, May 20, 3 p.m.

Cost: $350.00
