BPCC remains among the top 10 military-friendly colleges
BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Bossier Parish Community College says it is once again among the top military-friendly colleges, according to an annual ranking to be published by GI Jobs magazine.
The college claims to have been named one of the top ten military-friendly schools for the 2022-2023 school year. This year’s designation ranks BPCC in the top ten category for all community colleges nationwide and marks its 11th consecutive year to receive the prestigious honor.
“Serving our veterans and their families is an honor for me, knowing the sacrifices they have made for us,” said Susan Stakes, Program Director of the Veterans Resource Center at BPCC.
“I consider it a privilege to be able to offer them the best opportunities to use benefits and find a career path for their future. The VRC provides a safe and supportive environment with personnel who have extensive knowledge of the military lifestyle, state and federal benefits, and military transition. BPCC takes great pride in serving our military community.
Schools that have received the military-friendly school designation are evaluated using public and private data sources and responses to a survey completed by the school.
BPCC’s Veteran Resource Center (VRC) opened in 2018 in partnership with Louisiana Tech University to provide military and veteran students with a central, one-stop location to obtain essential military support services at the state and federal levels. The VRC serves all students affiliated with the military, including active duty, veterans, reservists, National Guard, military spouses, and dependent children.
The 2022-23 Military Friendly® School List will be published in the May issue of IG Jobs magazine and can be found online.
