Now that Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S22 series devices are available, it’s time for the company to focus on less flashy and more affordable devices. Samsung is now sending out invitations for its “Awesome Galaxy A Event” on March 17, where it is expected to launch two new mid-range phones.

This time last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy A72, Galaxy A52, and Galaxy A52 5G. Rumor has it that Samsung will just refresh these devices during 2022’s “Awesome Galaxy A” event – we’ll likely get a Galaxy A73 and Galaxy A53, both with 5G support.

This year, Samsung is pushing Galaxy’s impactful innovations even further for the A-series. The impressive new Galaxy A-series devices are designed to deliver the complete experience people expect from a smartphone.

We expect the Galaxy A73 and A53 to retain their respective 6.5-inch and 6.7-inch AMOLED screens. That said, they can go from a 90Hz refresh rate to a 120Hz refresh rate, as that’s what the A52 5G featured last year. The phones may also pack Snapdragon 750G or 778G processors, which were previously used in the A52 5G and A52S 5G.

In terms of pricing, last year’s A52 and A72 were $400 and $500 respectively. Samsung can stick with that price for the A53 and A73, as it did with the latest Galaxy S-series phones.

The next “Awesome Galaxy A Event” airs March 17 at 10 a.m. ET. You can watch it live on Samsung’s YouTube page or Samsung’s website.
