Wild -1.5

The Minnesota Wild will look to snap a three-game road skid and four-game losing streak on Thursday night. But that will have to come in a city that has traditionally been a tough place for the Wild, regardless of records.

Minnesota heads to Wells Fargo Center for the start of a back-to-back East Coast road trip, and the Wild have won just four times in 14 visits to Philadelphia in series history. This is the first meeting between the teams since the Wild’s 4-1 victory on December 14, 2019 at Xcel Energy Center.

The game will also mark Jared Spurgeon’s 744th game with Minnesota, which sets the franchise record for a defenseman and is second among all players in Wild history.

Two former Wild coaches are on the Flyers staff. Mike Yeo, who led Minnesota for four seasons, is Philadelphia’s interim coach, and John Torchetti, who served as the Wild’s interim coach during the 2015-16 season, is Philadelphia’s assistant coach.

Philadelphia sits last in the Metropolitan Division with 42 points and is the first of two games Minnesota has against struggling teams on back-to-back nights. The Wild travel to Buffalo on Friday for a game against a Sabers team that is seventh in the Atlantic Division.

Forward Mats Zuccarello and defenseman Alex Goligoski both have the most career points among current Wild players with 16 in 27 and 30 career games, respectively.
